The LCYC – CSEF, locally known as simply the LCYC, is an organization dedicated to providing hands-on experiences through sailing for young and old as they discover the enjoyment of being on the coastal waters of Maine.

A community based organization serving the five Cranberry Islands, the LCYC’s programs offer rowing and sailing classes for juniors (beginners, intermediates, and advanced), as well as adults. Utilizing our modern fleet of Optis and Turbo 420s, participants will delight in the excitement that comes with experiential learning.

All of the students will achieve a greater level of confidence on the water through a better understanding of proper boat handling and the importance of water safety and seamanship. Our goal is for the students to gain a heightened level of enjoyment for sailing, and to just have fun being on the water.

Our long tradition (since 1964!) of community building, teaching the enduring skills critical to island living, and providing a sense of place for both year-round and summer residents, continues to bring families back year after year.

Come have a fun adventure. Join us for the summer!
